One of my longer matched pairs has been on my mind lately. The mentee is rarely happy around school and seems to take on a lot of anxiety, tiredness and sadness. However, what I have observed between them this year is something special. When the two meet, the student comes alive with excitement and joy. The mentee can share about their struggles with daily life, but that help them to work through it and become happy by the time the two finish their session. It is a classic example why mentoring works.

She understands the heart beat and passion of our school leaders and teachers. “After raising our 4 kids, I know it just does not stop there. It really takes many individuals and a community to support kids, families and schools, and I love connecting the critical dots. Every child can benefit from a caring adult mentor”
