We had one matched pair decide not to continue this year. The mentee said that they were, “doing just fine” and decided a mentor was not necessary. Throughout the year, this student has had some difficulties. Recently, I gave an update to the former mentor about the student and this mentor decided it was time to act. They took the time to write a letter to the student just as a form of encouragement. People can mentor, even when mentoring is not officially taking place.
