Mentor Coordinator Report

Stories & Quotes To Share:
A Shift Toward Hope
One mentee has been meeting with her mentor since middle school, building one of the few consistent supports in an otherwise challenging home life. Oftentimes, she has struggled with feelings of hopelessness that impact her day-to-day.
With encouragement from her mentor, she recently stepped outside her comfort zone and auditioned for the spring musical—something she never saw herself doing. She earned a role, and since then, there has been a noticeable shift in her demeanor. She appears lighter, more positive, and increasingly confident.
While her challenges certainly remain, this new experience has given her a sense of pride and something fun to look forward to.
A Big Week
Over the past four years (and 30 days), one thing has remained consistent: her mentor.
Through ups and downs, setbacks and successes at home and school, that steady presence gave her someone to check in with, be honest with, and be encouraged by. With the support, consistency and encouragement of her mentor, she began to take steps forward – grades improved, friendships began and she eventually found her way onto the wrestling team. This year, she competed at the state wrestling tournament, an accomplishment that reflects not just her talent, but her persistence and growing confidence.
Now, as a senior, she’s choosing between two colleges where coaches have expressed strong interest in her continuing to wrestle at the collegiate level. It’s a decision she’ll make this week—one that represents just how far she’s come.
Having a consistent, trusted adult in her life over the past four years has made a noticeable and lasting impact—helping her stay grounded, build confidence, and believe in what was possible for her future. And you have to know – her mentor is thrilled and amazed at how far she’s come!!
