Mark seemed pretty stressed out with life when his coach suggested it might help to have a mentor. He felt a bit cautious at first and asked a lot of questions about the program and how everything worked. The first mentor he met didn’t feel like a good fit to him, but he felt much better when he met Doug who had a son his age. Even though he has a more reserved personality, Mark has enjoyed having a listening ear, meeting someone new, and sometimes learning new words through playing Scrabble. He also appreciates that Doug has been able to help with a history assignment and a large research project, as well as his resume and job applications. He looks forward to continuing to meet next year, and says that he would meet twice a week if he could!
