Issac and Corey’s Story

Issac and Corey’s Story:

Issac heard about Be the One as a freshman from a friend.  He admits that initially, “I thought it sounded like fun to get out of class and play games—being a typical teenage boy.”  After spending 4 years with his mentor, Corey, he says: “It ended up being so needed and helpful.  Having someone to talk to, bounce ideas around, and process things.”  Fierce competitors while playing card games, they have important conversations along the way. An athlete who readily admits he is not academically motivated, Issac  credits Corey with helping him learn to be more organized and procrastinate less.  Devastated by the loss of sports during covid, he said “It really helped to have Corey to talk to and to let it all out, to calm down, to get my bearings.”
