We had two matches that did not seem to be working out this month. Both students approached me with frustrations concerning their mentor. Instead of ending the relationships, I decided to speak with each of their mentors to see if we could find a solution. I encouraged both mentors to change their approach and be more consistent in their attendance. This made a world of difference. Both students are now very happy with their mentors and want to continue after only a few tweaks to their relationships.

Nancy provides the critical backbone of labor, coordination and communication for Partners for Schools. She understands the heart beat and passion of our school leaders and teachers. “After raising our 4 kids, I know it just does not stop there. It really takes many individuals and a community to support kids, families and schools, and I love connecting the critical dots. Every child can benefit from a caring adult mentor”
