Mentor Coordinator Report

Stories & Quotes To Share:

Quiet Mentee Lights Up with Mentor

One of my mentees is usually very quiet and undemonstrative. But the second their mentor walks into the room, they absolutely light up. I’ve honestly never seen this student so animated as when their mentor arrives. It’s such an encouragement to the mentor to see that kind of response on the mentee’s face as they roll through their second year together.

Supporting a Mentee Through a Hard Season

One of our mentees is going through a tough time at home, and it’s been a struggle for her just to get to school. This student is normally happy-go-lucky, but she’s really having a challenging time right now. She and her mentor have been unable to meet for several weeks due to the students absences and pre-planned travel for the mentor. When they missed meeting for the third week in a row, this mentor rearranged her schedule so she could show up on a different day, knowing she’s a positive point of reference, a
consistent presence and one of the few bright spots in her mentee’s week at this time.

A New Hobby Sparked by a Mentee
One of my mentors shared that her mentee has introduced her to a brand-new hobby:
puzzles. The mentor said she started doing a puzzle at home this fall and can’t believe how grounding it’s been for her own mental health.
