Strengthening Communities Through Mentoring: one relationship at a time

Ferndale High School – September 2025

Mentor Coordinator Report

Stories & Quotes To Share:
So many smiles and hugs this month.  Our students were so excited to see their mentors.  The recurring phrase I kept hearing was….I cannot wait to tell you about my summer.  Matches started the 3rd week of school for some.  Scheduling has been hard since I have not been given access to the new attendance/scheduling program. Hoping I am granted access any day.  Mentors have been very patient with this whole process.

Highlights:

After checking in with all the returning students we had 30 matches continue with BTO. We lost many to graduation, moving schools, or doing Running Start.

At our first New Mentor Orientation we had 11 possible mentors show and up-many are currently completing the onboarding process.

We also went into 9th grade health classes to introduce the program to the freshman.
We have over 30 mentors on our wait list
We have 14 students on the wait list

Upcoming:
10/01/25 New Mentor Orientation
10/21/25 Open House at FHS- we will have a table set up for the community to learn about BTO.
