Mentor Coordinator Report
Stories & Quotes To Share:
November went fast. We had more ½ days and vacation days than any other month so far. Despite the lack of days at some school some matches are really getting in sync. In October we had a lot of new matches so it was nice to see the matches settling in. One of our students said “My weekend gets off on the right vibe when I see my mentor on Friday. She is so easy and fun to talk to .” Another mentee mentioned “I have the best mentor, she just wants me to be successful.” She said that after the mentor went to the mentor equipping session, she brought her back flyers and workbooks for life after high school. Another young man said to me “Thank you for giving me the best mentor, he is so easy to spend time with.”
Highlights:
November 4th we had a New Mentor Orientation with 2 attendees that signed up to mentor. It was nice to have a small group.
November 14th for our Native American Assembly, one of our BTO students was the MC. She was cool, calm and confident. Her mentor came to see her in action. I was very proud of her.
It was a great month of reflection for our matches. We had a “Thankful” worksheet for each to complete and color. Everyone had something to be thankful for.
Upcoming:
December 5th we are having a Cookie Decorating Party during our Extended Eagle Time (9am-9:45) in the library. Mentees and mentors can stop by and decorate some cookies and have a hot beverage and visit with one another.
December 10th- ½ Day, No matches
December 22- January 4- Winter Break
Number of Current Matches: 48
