We hit the ground running right after spring break with End of The Year interviews. Listening to what the mentors and mentees had to say about our program really is uplifting. In the few interviews I have listened so far I have heard some common themes. The most prevalent is I have an adult who shows up just for me, and listens and supports me in whatever I have going on. Another common thread is they help guide me in important parts of life: job hunting, college admissions, future goals, etc. So many areas in life our mentors are there for our students. Along with that the mentors expressed how it is nice to have someone to be there for. Some are empty nesters with free time on their hands and they look forward to these meetings every week. It fills their cup.
Highlights:
We handed out our Spring Merch to the newer matches. They are loving their items!
Barron Kares donated $9680.00 to the BTO Program! Such a generous donation.
Upcoming:
We are excited for the Sunset Cruise on May 7th. It will be a fun night celebrating the year. Our program had a lot of growth this year.
We have a 1/2 day on May 13th, so no meetings this day.
No School on May 25 so no meetings this day.
