Host a student intern today
The NW Workforce Development Council has found that labor shortages may be critical over the next 5 years for our region. One of the major causes has been identified as limited meaningful “first job” opportunities.
Starting in 2017 students from LHS will have the opportunity to participate in unpaid internships for school credit. It will allow them to acquire new skills and gain valuable experience for their resume. Students will not be coming into these internships empty handed: they will have already received valuable classroom instruction in skill sets we need in the marketplace. We the community will be providing the lab!
Students at Lynden are currently learning valuable skills in Robotics, 3D Engineering, Woodworking, Welding, Manufacturing, Web Design, Graphic Arts (replacing multimedia), Microsoft Office, Banking & Investing, Accounting, Marketing, Healthcare, Horticulture, Landscaping, Animal Science, Fashion & Apparel, Culinary, and Live Production.
