Thanks for wanting to share about BTO with your friends. Word of mouth is the most powerful means possible to encourage more people to get involved. Here is a list of the most powerful ways to share:
- Call, email or text a friend to personally ask them to consider getting involved because you think they would make a great mentor. Then refer them to our website for stories and more information. Follow-up in a week to see what they are thinking.
- Invite a friend to come with you to a mentor orientation or mentor equipping meeting so they can hear about the program first hand. These meetings are posted on our website and on Facebook.
- Call a few friends and invite your inner circle to an informational meeting hosted at your home or in a coffee shop. Contact Nancy at betheone@partnersforschools.org to schedule a date and time.
- Follow us on Facebook and repost the things that get you excited about mentoring in your timeline with a personal comment on how it affected you. Invite others into a conversation online- Open ended questions like this: “How did a mentor impact your life when you were a teen?” or “21 kids at our middle school recently asked for a mentor after hearing about Be the One in a health class. Why do you think youth are so interested in having mentors?”
Or contact Nancy at betheone@partnersforschools.org for more ideas & information.
Thanks!
